Fire mitigation is complete, and we are grateful.
But while we were in the midst of that, our world related to the pandemic kept changing. Now we’re trying to figure out how best to get started again while keeping our restaurant family & community safe. We want to get this right, especially because we might be in a new normal for quite some time.
While we figure out menus, staffing, prepping and new systems that put safety first, we are taking care of a project in our building that would also require us to be closed. It means there’s more time, too, for our public health experts — and all of us — to learn more and move closer to addressing COVID.
We appreciate that you’re eager for us to re-open — we cannot thank you enough for that — we are, too!! Our connections to our community are what keep us going. Thanks for being patient with us as we do some repairs and figure out how to come back at our best and safest in this new reality.

Thanks for your on-going support and concern. We are in the midst of clean up, repairs, and smoke mitigation from Sunday’s devastating fire on Central Ave. While there is no comparison of our situation to that of our neighbors’, we’ve learned from our recovery contractor that soot removal from every imaginable interior surface will take longer than our initial three day closure forecast. Unfortunately, that means that reopening will be pushed back about a week. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
Our friends down the block have an entirely different task at hand….making sense of their situations, reassessing, rebuilding. Please keep them in your hearts.
Keep sending out love into the world…we all need it ❤️

Many of you must know by now about the devastating 2400 block of Central Ave. fire tonight. Though our building was spared, our hearts are breaking for our neighbors…the block will be unrecognizable. It’s been a long day, after a long week. We will be closed Mon-Wed. Give some love to each other. ❤️

MN Peacetime Emergency
The Short: Starting Tuesday 3/17, we will be open Monday – Saturday from 4:30pm until 8pm. We will be limited to doing takeout only. Call or order online. No order is too small nor too large.
The Long: While we’re a little anxious, we’re also committed to supporting our employees and neighbors to the best of our ability. Thanks for being in this with us. Northeast Minneapolis is buoyed by a resilience we are very proud of. Here’s our favorite comfort from Mr. Fred Rogers: “When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.”
Thanks for your support – let’s all help each other~
